Alex Blaine Layder

Bonjour, mamas n papas! Welcome to my--

redhead-monster:

Every February 13th my lady friends and I leave our husbands and our boyfriends at home and we just come and kick it breakfast style. Ladies celebrating ladies.

I totally and completely celebrate this holiday more than I celebrate Valentine’s Day, and not just because I’m single, but because ladies don’t celebrate other ladies enough. And dudes, you can participate too! Find the special ladies in your life and tell them how awesome they are, and not just because they’re you’re mom or have sex with you (if you swing that way).

Basically, February 13th is a day where I unreservedly am extra-grateful to all the amazing, beautiful women I know, a lot of whom are online and read this tumblr. (Though not all of them. My BFF texted me “HAPPY GALENTINE’S DAY!!!” which is why she is the best.)

I used to think that besides a select few girls, I just wasn’t very good at being a girl, or making friends with girls, or discussing girl things. And thanks to all the fabulous, intelligent, confident, sexy women I’ve met online, I don’t think that anymore. I am such a better, stronger, more self-assured woman. Girl. Person. I am still unsure which I am at this age. But it’s thanks to these women that I found the confidence to write and show it to other people, to discuss and own my sexuality, to not be ashamed of my femininity, and that the idea that girls are all catty, gossip-mongering, shallow bitches is total bullshit. They have comforted me when I’m down, celebrated with me when I’m happy, unwaveringly supported me through thick and thin, and make me laugh every single day, no matter how shitty I feel.

So since I make a point to always tell my real-life ladies how much I love them but don’t get nearly enough chances to say this to my online ladies - thank you. I love you. I am constantly inspired and amazed by you. And nothing makes me feel better about the world I live in than knowing it’s filled with so many intelligent, strong, beautiful women who are capable of so much.

Happy Galentine’s Day, bitches. You rock my world.
